Happy Friendship Day

Today, August 4, is the International friendship day of 2013
AD. It has been celebrating in south America from many years ago. The tradition
of dedicating honor of friends began in south America in 1935. The first
international friendship day was proposed in 1958.
It is celebrating on different dates in different countries. The first friendship
day was proposed on 30th july in 1958. The general assembly of UN
(United Nation) declared 30 July as official International friendship day in
2011. However, Nepal, India, and some other countries in the world celebrate it
on the first Sunday of August every year. Therefore today, first Sunday of
august, is the international friendship day. It is gradually being popular in
all over the world and celebrated in large numbers of countries.
On this day, people express their love to friends and
exchange gifts like flower, cards etc. Actually friendship is necessary for all to survive in society, being human as social
beings.
It is said that friendship is not how you forget, but how
you forgive, it is not how you listen, but how you understand. It is not how
you see, but how you feel. It is not how you let go, but how you hold on.
