Maha Nawami observed

Hindus all over the nation have been observing Maha Nawami , the ninth day of Dashain on Tuesday.
Goddess Durga’s incarnation as Goddess Laxmi is worshipped today. People sacrifice animals and vegetables in their automobiles to mark this day.
According to Hindu mythology, worshipping Goddess Durga onMaha Nawami is equal to performing Durga Puja on all 9 days of Navaratri.
People throng different temples nationwide --Dakshinkali, Guheshwori, Maitidevi, Kalikasthan, Naxal Bhagwati, Bhadrakali, Bijeshwori, Indrayani, Raktakali, Bajrayogini, Sankata and Bajrabarahi--to offer prayers to the goddess of wealth, peace and prosperity.
The Tajelu Bhawani Temple in the Capital has been opened today for the general public to offer prayers. Traditionally, the temple remains closed for the rest of the year, and is only opened for this day of Dashain . The ‘jamara’, which are sown on the first day ofDashain , are also offered to the goddess today.
